eMotion And MediaSite Announce Partnership
- Collaboration Between Software Products Will Improve Speed
And Accuracy Of Digital Video Indexing -
San Jose, CA, Dec. 14, 2000 - eMotion Inc., the leader in
digital media management (DMM) solutions, and MediaSite, the pioneer
in providing interactive video technology for the Web, today announced
they will jointly integrate eMotion MediaPartner 4.0 and MediaSite
Publisher 4.1.
As part of the partnership, MediaSite's Publisher 4.1, a software
package that allows users to create, edit and publish indexed video
on the Internet and in DMM systems, will be integrated into eMotion's
MediaPartner 4.0, the first fully turnkey 100% Web DMM solution.
Publisher 4.1 allows users to encode multiple video formats and
live feeds, including analog video, RealPlayer, Windows Media and
MPEG, while automatically segmenting them with metadata derived
from MediaSite's real-time speech recognition and video-text alignment
capabilities. This content can then be delivered to MediaPartner
or directly to the Web via MediaSite's WebFinder product. This integration
allows users to effectively apply the power of eMotion's DMM technology
to control access, delivery, collaboration and commerce.
eMotion MediaPartner 4.0 powers the full lifecycle of digital media
from content collaboration, deep storage, search and retrieval using
eMotion's patented natural language search and the ability to effectively
move band-width intensive media over the web.
During the indexing process, the integration of eMotion MediaPartner
4.0 and MediaSite Publisher 4.1 automates the creation of vastly
more metadata than previously possible with any other DMM and logging
combination. By allowing the software to perform a previously manual
effort, overall application accuracy and productivity increases
dramatically.
"We are pleased to be one of the first DMM companies to work with
MediaSite at this level," said Bob Griffin, president and CEO of
eMotion, Inc. "This partnership will allow application developers
to incorporate sophisticated search, navigation and summarization
techniques for managing their digital assets."
The integration will allow users to automatically ingest metadata
and video media into eMotion MediaPartner 4.0, resulting in richer
video search and navigation experience by fully utilizing all of
the metadata collected by MediaSite's Publisher 4.1.
"This partnership will allow MediaSite to expand its presence in
the DMM industry," said Vinay Mehra, CEO of MediaSite. "We applaud
eMotion's dedication to enhancing its products through this partnership.
This partnership will help build the first end-to-end solution for
companies who need to log, edit and manage digital assets."
Publisher 4.1 also digitizes standard tape-based video and creates
a metadata-based index of speech and images. Currently, a number
of television and film companies, including Internet Broadcasting
Systems, KDKA-TV and MPI Networks are using this technology to archive
their shows and news broadcasts.
The integrated versions of eMotion MediaPartner 4.0 and Publisher
4.1 will be available in January of 2001.
