MediaSite CTO and Vice-Chair to Speak at Streaming Media West
2000
- Krishna Pendyala to Address Uses and Limits of Streaming
Media in Corporate Communications -
San Jose, CA, Dec. 11, 2000 - MediaSite, Inc., the global
pioneer in the development of software and applications for converting
video into an interactive medium, is pleased to announce that its
chief technology officer and vice-chairman will be addressing attendees
of Streaming Media West 2000 here on Thursday, Dec. 14.
Krishna Pendyala is part of a business track panel discussion slated
for 3:50 p.m. that will focus on "Using Streaming Media to Maximize
the Effectiveness of Your Corporate Communications: Understanding
Current Applications and Future Directions." Appearing on the panel
with Pendyala will be Nick Balletta, senior vice-president and general
manager of Enterprise Services at iBEAM; Irwin Hipsman, who heads
up business development at Brainshark; and Stan Woodward, vice president
of business services at Yahoo!
"With the recent growth in broadband capability and rapid convergence
of video with digital technologies, there is no question that streaming
media presents significant opportunities for corporate marketing
and communications," said Pendyala, who co-founded the Pittsburgh-based
company in 1997. "But an equally important point to emphasize is
that streaming media is not just another 'cool tool' to have. It
needs to fit into the corporate culture and into the workflow. Otherwise,
it's useless-no better than another hammer looking for nails."
MediaSite, which will be exhibiting in Booth #1624, is also pleased
to announce that Pendyala and Chief Executive Officer Vinay Mehra
will be offering on-site presentations at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Tuesday,
Dec. 12, and Wednesday, Dec. 13, and at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec.
14. Throughout the show, MediaSite will have a number of business
partners on hand to demonstrate the MediaSite product line's international
capabilities and how they are enhanced through strategic alliances.
