"We're very pleased to offer this product to our customers and partners," said MediaSite Vice-Chairman and Chief Technology Officer Krishna Pendyala. "All of the new features are geared toward clients who need to put video on the Web very quickly, including corporations and entertainment media. And because they can now do it with only one machine, Publisher 4.1 saves users money."

The new features add to the significant advantages Publisher already held over competitive products, including the ability to automatically index video based on closed captioning data; the Editor tool, which allows users to edit metadata associated with their video, including changing and combining segments; and the Highlights tool, which enables faster-than-real-time viewing of video content. In addition, Publisher customers retain total control over their own metadata.
