Jalva Media Partnership to Open New Markets for MediaSite

- Three-Year Deal Brings MediaSite Software to Clients in Asia and the U.S -

PITTSBURGH, Nov. 29 - MediaSite, Inc., the Pittsburgh-based global pioneer in developing software and applications for converting traditional video into an interactive medium, today announced its plans to partner with Jalva Media, Inc., a global enterprise that provides solutions for streaming media over the Internet.

Jalva Media, which provides rich media preparation and processing, service delivery applications and intelligent, multi-tiered rich media archiving to video content owners throughout Asia and the United States, has signed a multi-year partnership contract with MediaSite for the sale of software, software usage licenses and resale rights. The partnership is expected to generate revenues of approximately $3 million over its term.

"It's a deal that requires the two companies to work very closely together, and the critical synergies that exist between them are sure to provide added value to end users," said Per Sjofors, MediaSite's vice president for international business development. "The main benefit is that Jalva is providing these services offshore, which allows them to bring costs down significantly. In addition, through this partnership Jalva has discovered that a company that normally would be seen as a competitor can actually complement its professional services. And that's a very attractive proposition."

"Successful deployment of rich media requires both a business model that enables the content owner to monetize content, and the lowering of costs related to deployment," said Gautam Anand, Jalva's vice president of business development. "The combination of MediaSite's software applications with Jalva Media's services model creates an extremely compelling value proposition to any content provider who wants to intelligently deploy video on the Internet in a cost-effective manner."
