ISLIP MEDIA CHANGES NAME TO MEDIASITE, INC.
New Name Reflects Focus on Building MediaSites
(Searchable Video Websites)

PITTSBURGH, PA - September 7, 1999 - Internet video search company ISLIP Media, Inc., the leading supplier of software and services to create searchable, Web-based video and audio MediaSites, today announced that the company has changed its name to MediaSite, Inc. The name change reflects the company's focus on building MediaSites (searchable video websites) for video portal providers as well as organizations in the advertising, broadcasting, cable TV, entertainment, medical and training markets.

"The name change reflects our focus on making customers' existing video searchable over the Web," said Mark Juliano, president and CEO ofMediaSite, Inc. "Since pioneering searchable video for the Web by launching the MediaSite.net searchable video website earlier this year, we have continued to attract high-profile Web portals and broadcasters to our customer base and are now powering some of the largest searchable video websites in the world."

About MediaSite Solutions for Putting Searchable Video on the Web

MediaSite offers a range of creation, hosting, and search solutions for making video as searchable as text. MediaSite Solutions enable organizations with small or large amounts of video to quickly and simply place their content online using the most advanced Web-based technology available.

MediaSite, Inc. also announced today new tools, services and web-based pricing that make it simpler than ever to put searchable video on the Web. New announcements include the launch of Branded MediaSite Services (allowing organizations to outsource searchable video site creation and management, while maintaining their existing corporate identity), an 80% reduction in pricing for existing MediaSite System products, and MediaSite Software Development Kits that enable developers to easily integrate MediaSite technology into their offerings (see: New MediaSite Web Tools and Pricing Announced Press Release, 9/7/99).

The Growth of Searchable Video on the Internet

As the Internet increasingly becomes multimedia-based, video search engines are becoming as necessary as text search engines. With over 100 million existing streaming media players (which enable users to play video over the Internet) and the convergence of video and the Web, technology to find specific video content without having to sort through and play multiple video clips is becoming increasingly important.

Without video search capabilities, video content is "broadcast" (or streamed) over the Internet in much the same way that TV content reaches homes. That means Internet viewers watch video programming from start to finish. With video search capabilities, users can search all of the video content on the website and watch only the video clips that are of interest to them.
