MEDIASITE CITED AS ONE OF AMERICA’S HOTTEST TECHNOLOGY-BASED COMPANIES BY FACTS ONLINE

PITTSBURGH, August 9, 1999 What does MediaSite have in common with technology leaders such as America Online, Amazon.com, Yahoo!, @Home Network and DrKoop.com?

They’re all officially hot.

MediaSite and the other companies are among the 313 U.S.-based technology firms that have been named by Facts Online (www.facts-online.com) as "hot" companies for June 1999. MediaSite was included in the list, based on its national presence and growth potential, as well as its recently completed third round of funding totaling $6.8 million. Facts Online reviews tens of thousands of private and public companies, identifying those with new investments or acquisitions.

MediaSite pioneered the emerging searchable Web video streaming video market through its MediaSite creation, hosting and search tools and services. Today, MediaSite is positioned as the leading supplier of software and services enabling companies and people to search for online video.

"We are pleased by Facts Online’s recognition of what we have already achieved as well as where we’re headed," said Mark Juliano, President and CEO of MediaSite, Inc. "As the Internet evolves, streaming video is becoming an integral part of the way people access information. The ability to search for specific video will help businesses serve their customers more efficiently. That is where MediaSite is already positioned, and that is how we intend to maintain our market leadership," Juliano added.

More than 50 million streaming media players are in use today. Combined with the convergence of video and the Web, technology to locate specific video content without having to sort through and play multiple video clips is already becoming increasingly important. The MediaSite tools enable companies, even those with only a few hours of video, to quickly, easily and inexpensively post their video online, enabling customers to locate specific clips.

More than 20,000 searchable video clips have been posted to the Web in the last six months, using MediaSite technology; that number grows daily.
