Council to hold up and hopefully lead the Federation into an area they never

make sure he was indeed back in his dimension.  His talks with Ktryna and

Altanta confirmed that something big was going on. He had tried to get ahold

of Celchu but communications aboard DSE were tight and messages to the

Intrepid were denied.::



::Davis wanted to get back.  But then again...he didn't.  He missed being on

the Galileo.  His brief stint as CO was actually exhilirating.  Sighing,

Davis went back to work on his report.  Suddenly the computer on his desk

chimed.::



Davis> ::getting up and going over to the desk, he turned on the display::

 Admiral Stockton...?



Stockton> Good to see you back, Cmdr.



Davis> ::smoothing his uniform::  Thank you Admiral.  It's good to be

back.  Certainly you're not calling me just to welcome me back?



Stockton> No. No I'm not, Cmdr.



Davis> You've reached the Intrepid?  Telling them I'm ready for...



Stockton> I haven't messaged the Intrepid, Cmdr.



Davis> Ah.



Stockton> Actually Cmdr, I'm calling for another matter.  I understand you

COed the Galileo back to us.



Davis> That's right sir.



Stockton> Well Cmdr, we've got a ship without a Commanding Officer.  And

we've had this decision in mind for sometime and we need the Galileo back in

business.  As soon as repairs are completed. I'd like you to take command of

her Cmdr.



Davis> ::shocked:: Me?



Stockton>  As I've said Cmdr, Starfleet has been thinking about this for

some time.  However with the Galileo disappearing a month or so before

hand...well we couldn't give you something that wasn't here anymore.



Davis> I'm...I'm honored Admiral but I couldn't leave Cmdr Celchu and...



Stockton> I've already informed LtCmdr Celchu about the decision.  He

confirmed that you were ready for the task.



Davis> I can't get through tothe Intrepid but if you can...please...tell

LtCmdr Celchu thank you.



Stockton> ::nodding:: I'll send a list of your new crew.  A handful you

should already know.  However, we're having trouble finding an adequate Chief

Medical Officer.



Davis> Understood sir.



Stockton> As soon as the Galileo is repaired you'll receive your orders. 

Good exploring Cmdr.



Davis> ::straightening:: Aye,sir.  And thank you.



::The display blinked out to the Federation logo and Davis couldn't keep from

smiling.::
