<ooc:- Ive used Steven's log as a template (I know its lazy , but I

havent

really had time to do much else)>

Ktryna in her Kzin form had sufficienly startled the natives enough,

leaving just enough time to make a quick getaway. Atlanta ran onto the

bridge shortly before the others arrived and took her place at the tactical

station. She engaged programme 'Bubblegum' and re-routed all possible

availible power to the shields. There was always the posibility of further

attack by the natives.

The Captain ran alked hurriedly onto the bridge, followed by XO Morraine,

Ruckwood and Ktryna. Ensign Dach had taken her place down in engineering,

attempting to hold all the systems together.

Davis> Battle stations everyone! This is our last chance!

::red lights flash as the klaxons fill the air::

Morraine> ::taking over the CONN:: Raise shields and engines are online!

Atlanta raised the shields without getting the results that she expected.

The last time she chewcked, the shields had been fully operational. She

sighed and shook her head.

Jade> Shields are at 35%?!

Morraine> ::talking to Davis:: Seems the natives decided to give us a

little

sabotaged farewell.

Davis contacted Dach, who immediately attempted to raise the power of the

shields from engineering. XO Moraine took over at the Helm and engaged

thrusters, breaking the Galileo free of the planet's gravity. They headed

towards the portal with the co-ordinates supplied by Ruckwood, but they were

a minute behind the solar link and so they hoped that the portal would hold

position for just long enough for them to get through.

Davis> +COMM+ Tar'a, how's the signature holding?

Dach>ENG> Some minor fluctuations sir but they are corrected before

they

pose a problem.

Davis> +COMM+ And the shields?

Dach>ENG> Rerouting what we have of auxilliary now, sir.

Atlanta looked at the console, the shield's power had risen, but it still

was only half of its maximum capacity. She worried about how it would hold

against a slight phase varience within the portal if it knocked them out of

sync slightly. She had programmed the shields to come back online should

this happen to try to prevent the ship from being crushed.

Jade> Shields now at 55% sir.

Davis> +COMM+ Keep working on it Ens.

As they approached the portal it became evident that the natives hadn't

quite given up yet and were attempting to sabotage the portal. 'Oh for

Christ's sake, what is their problem?' Atlanta thought. They were really

starting to annoy her. With the shields so low, all weapons power had been

re-routed so there was no chance of firing at them and plus firing at them

also risked destroying the portal.

Captain Davis looked around for suggestions and then paused for thought

Davis> +COMM+ Bridge to Eng! Do we have enough power for the holocloak?

Dach>ENG> Not enough Cmdr. We'd fry ythe ships systems to create a

complex

image.

Davis> Understood Eng. Standby. ::spinning to Ktryna:: The natives

weren't

particualrly fond of your Kzin correct Ktryna.

Ktryna> ::with a slight smile:: No Cmdr. I would say not.

Davis> Then let's see how they feel about a ship sized Kzin. +COMM+ Eng

reroute all power including life suppport to holocloak. Ktryna patch in all

avaiable information on the Kzin to TAC.

Ktryna> ::nods:: Aye, sir. She moved over to the Tactical unit and

Atlanta

stepped aside.

Dach>Eng> But sir...

Davis> I'm aware of the risks to the ship Ens but we won't get another

shot

at this.

Dach> Aye, sir.

Jade> File loaded and holocloak online sir!

Computer> +tweep+ Warning life support failure in 5 minutes.

Davis> Prepare to initate holo-cloak on my mark!

Jade> Aye, sir.

Ruckwood> The portal is buckling Cmdr!

Davis> Initiate holocloak!

Jade> Holocloak initiated!

::The Galileo form shifted in the air and crackled as the holocloak changed

the image of the ship into a huge Kzin with fangs gleaming that seemed to

fill the air. The site caught the eyes of the natives, pouring terror

straight into them. Screaming in horror they ran from the portal and made

way for their camps.::

::On board the Galileo the ship bucked as it struggled to keep the clear

image of the Kzin.::

Davis> Report!

Jade> External sensors are offline! Holo Cloak Shields up to 65%! We've

got

explosions on decks 5 through 8!

The ship was badly damaged and the simulations that Atlanta and Dach had run

showed that with even the slight damage to the cargobays, the change of

getting through the portal was small, however it was definitely worth taking

the rsik. Atlanta didn't want to be in an alternate universe. She wanted to

be back with Starfleet, and a universe that she knew slightly.

Ruckwood> The natives have left the portal and don't look like they'll be

coming back. though it seems to be buckling.

Davis> Triss, head straight for the portal, let's hope the shields and

signature hold!

Atlanta watched the screen as the portal came closer. As they came within

half a kilometre, she disengaged the holocloak and re-routed all power to

the alternate energy pathway and the holophased cloaking device. All went

smoothly as they entered the portal and Atlanta gradually brought the device

online.

Atlanta> +COMM+ Bridge to engineering. The Holophased Colaking device is

now

online.

Dach> +taps+ Received. Everything looks fine down here.

Atlanta scrutised the Ops screen there was a slight phase varience.

Atlanta> Im picking up phase varience ::Pressing buttons:: attempting to

compensate.............. Phase varience decreasing.

The others looked relieved and continued to stare out of the view screen at

time and space being manipulated.

Atlanta> Wait a minute... Phase varience increasing again ::Makes minor

ajustments:: I cant compensate from here. +taps+ Dach I need you to set the

plasma regulators to an alternating frequency of ::looks at the screen::

3.92 seconds.

Dach>+taps+ Right ::rushes over to the plasma flow regulators and begins

to

adjust:: I think that should do it.

Atlanta> +taps+ The fluctuations are decreasing again.

There was a loud humming noise and a loud bang as the Galileo re-emerged

from the portal. The crew were flung into the air as it came to a halt.

Atlanta landed on her stomach over the barrier and in the middle of the

bridge.

Atlanta> I think the dampners just went off line.

She looked around to see everyone else flat on the floor.

Davis> Is everyone Ok? +taps+ Dach, are you there?

Dach>ENG>+taps+ Yeah, but I think I just broke something ::pauses to

stand

up:: Oh its the Bussard Ramscoop.

The bridge crew slowly pulled themselves up from the floor and made their

way back to their stations, just as the computer voice said

<Holocloak back online>

Atlanta frowned. It was probably that which had drained power from the

dampners. They couldn't go anywhere, but at least no-one could see them. The

computer decided again to alert them to their location.

<You have now entered the proximity of a millitary zone>
