===== BEFORE KTRYNA'S LOG =====

::Davis hurriedly replaced all the nueral gel packs with the new packs filled

with the living organisms referred to as the gel::

Davis> +taps+ Davis to Eng All packs have been replaced.

Dach> Ack Cmdr. All systems are reporting ready and above normal

parameters.

Davis> Understood. We shouldn't have any problems as this is what they

were meant for. In fact you should be able to prepare for potential problems

before they happen if the gel can't make the corrections beforehand.

Dach> I'll keep my eyes open, sir.

::Davis nodded to himelf, listening as the Galileo engines hummed, now

differently than before. If they were going to get home, the gel would get

them there. It turned the ship into somewhat of a sentient life form in a

way. With the gels temporal signtaure the ship would resonate it loud and

clear for the portal to match. Davis went on to see how everyone else was

coming.::

===== SEVERAL HOURS LATER =====

<<insert Ktryna's log>>

Davis> Battle stations everyone! This is our last chance!

::red lights flash as the klaxons fill the air::

Morraine> ::taking over the CONN:: Raise shields and engines are online!

Jade> Shields are at 35%?!

Morraine> ::talking to Davis:: Seems the natives decided to give us a

little sabotaged farewell.

Davis> +COMM+ Eng, see if you can't work with the gel to get those

shields up. Were going to need them when passing through that portal.

Dach>Eng> Ack.

Davis> Engage lifting thrusters!

Morraine> ::hands working over the console bringing the Galileo free of

the planets surface.:: Thrusters engaged!

::The Galileo rises slowly off the surface, the natives below shaking their

fists and topping their feet obviously screaming obsceneties in their native

tongue::

Davis> Mr. Ruckwood. Transfer coordinates of the portal to the CONN.

Ruckwood> Aye,sir.  ::tranfers the coordinates::

Morraine> ::checking her console:: Coordinates received and course laid in

sir.

Davis> Engage.

::The Galileo engines hum a bit louder as it starts to head of in its new

direction::

Davis> Mr. Ruckwood, ETA of solar link?

Ruckwood> 2 minutes sir.

Davis> How long until we reach the portal?

Morraine> ::checking:: 3 minutes sir.

Davis> +COMM+ Tar'a, how's the signature holding?

Dach>ENG> Some minor fluctuations sir but they are corrected before

they pose a problem.

Davis> +COMM+ And the shields?

Dach>ENG> Rerouting what we have of auxilliary now, sir.

Jade> Shields now at 55% sir.

Davis> +COMM+ Keep working on it Ens.

::Davis' mouth ran dry. Everything would be figured out in less than 5

minutes.::

Ruckwood> Sir! Sensors are picking up native life signs at the portal!

Davis> ::standing:: On screen.

::The display blinked and filled with the portal seeming to explode with

energy. At the base a large group of natives were chipping away at the portal

stand::

Ruckwood> They're trying to destroy the portal!

Tac> If we fire with our phasers anywhere near them, it could aid them in

tearing it down.

Davis> ::urgently:: ETA to the portal?

Triss> One minute!

Davis> Alignment of the suns?

Ruckwood> In thirty seconds.

::Davis' mind reeled with possibilities. If the natives managed to destroy

the portal it could take a lifetime in trying how to get it built again if

that were even possible. Then again, if they did, they'd have to wait for a

lifetime or more until the suns would realign, leaving them to have to find

other ways to their dimension::

Davis> +COMM+ Bridge to Eng! Do we have enough power for the holocloak?

Dach>ENG> Not enough Cmdr. We'd fry ythe ships systems to create a

complex image.

Davis> Understood Eng. Standby. ::spinning to Ktryna:: The natives weren't

particualrly fond of your Kzin correct Ktryna.

Ktryna> ::with a slight smile:: No Cmdr. I would say not.

Davis> Then let's see how they feel about a ship sized Kzin. +COMM+ Eng

reroute all power including life suppport to holocloak. Ktryna patch in all

avaiable information on the Kzin to TAC.

Ktryna> ::nods:: Aye, sir.

Dach>Eng> But sir...

Davis> I'm aware of the risks to the ship Ens but we won't get another

shot at this.

Dach> Aye, sir.

Jade> File loaded and holocloak online sir!

Computer> +tweep+ Warning life support failure in 5 minutes.

Davis> Prepare to initate holo-cloak on my mark!

Jade> Aye, sir.

Ruckwood> The portal is buckling Cmdr!

Davis> Initiate holocloak!

Jade> Holocloak initiated!

::The Galileo form shifted in the air and crackled as the holocloak changed

the image of the ship into a huge Kzin with fangs gleaming that seemed to

fill the air. The site caught the eyes of the natives, pouring terror

straight into them. Screaming in horror they ran from the portal and made

way for their camps.::

::On board the Galileo the ship bucked as it struggled to keep the clear

image of the Kzin.::

Davis> Report!

Jade> External sensors are offline! Shields up to 65%! We've got

explosions on decks 5 through 8!

Ruckwood> The natives have left the portal and don't look like they'll be

coming back. though it seems to be buckling.

Davis> Triss, head straight for the portal, let's hope the shields and

signature hold!

::The crew watched as the portal grew towards them, the suns rays striking

off the reflective dish below igniting the portal ring.::

Triss> Impact in 5...4...3...2...1...

::The Galileo screamed into the fiery portal, just as the base gave way

making the portal tumble and break into huge chunks below::

::Davis' final thoughts were if the Galileo would still be in one piece and

in its correct dimension. And he wasn't sure but he could swear he heard the

gel scream in agony. Then all went silent.::

==========

<<OOC: Ok folks this is it. We've gone through the portal and are on

our way home (or are we hehehe)! If anyone wants to add in any info during

the ride to the portal and such by all means as long as it is consistent with

what you've read. Also, including this log will make only 2 logs so far for

this week. I know two of the crew are excused but let's see some action from

the others before the week ends.>>
