<<OOC: Ok everyone. I'm back from the wedding and my wife and I had a
blast. After finally getting through all my email, I see we had a little
problem with consistency. I'm glad to see that I have a crew that can handle
things on their own, when command is not readily available to handle such
matters.
Now this may seem like a comb over but we don't need to alter past logs. It
takes more energy than it is worth and we are already past the point of it
mattering. We will *all* start from where this log below takes
everyone.>>
==========
Davis> Ensign Ruckwood, what happened to your 'early warning' system?
Ruckwood> I don’t know sir, it didn’t register any movement. I’ll
investigate into it.
::Davis looked through the giant hole in the cargo bay where he could see the
early morning signs start to paint over the black ink of night:: Don’t
bother Ensign we have more important things to deal with. Turning to
everyone::
Davis> Ok people this is our last day. Our final shot. We need to get
this ship running and I mean now! We have 16 at the most to get home. I want
us ready in 8. Ktryna, get to the EMH and get that checked out.
Ktryna> But...
Davis> ::continuing:: Triss, accompany her. ::to Ktryna:: When you are
released I want you ready in case we get another attack, and believe me there
will be. The natives know this is our last day and they'll do whatever it
takes to stop us. Don't forget they've been through this before so they may
do some things we haven't seen yet. I want everyone armed and ready.
Tar'a, get together with Mr Ruckwood and get this ship flying and ready for
going through that portal.
Dach> Aye, sir.
Davis> Atlanta, get the ships sensors working. We'll scrap Mr. Ruckwood's
devices. I don't want anyone going outside of this ship. Make sure the
sensors alert us if anything is detected within 10 km. We're going to need
that extra readiness when time gets cramped.
Jade> Understood, Cmdr.
Davis> Triss, make rounds to make sure everything is going smoothly.
Triss> Yes, sir.
::Davis let out a huge breath, knowing this was now or never.::
Davis> Now, one final thing. In my quarters is a living organism that I
discovered during the Darkness war. All information should be available in
the Galileo database, provided it survived the crash. It has special
properties and abilities that can help us get home. It's a major part of
Ktryna's genetic make up. It was also integrated into the USS Intrepid and
aided in fighting off a Panther attack as well as saved my life after a fatal
beating by their hands. I've trusted this 'gel' with my life.
::looks to everyone::
We've had our bouts or trust and mistrust, duplicity and games. This is no
game people. To get home you've got to trust me this last time. This gel
can help us get home. But I can't use it unless you all trust me with it.
So if you have any objections, say them now.
::Davis looked around and knew he had just thrown everyone for a loop.
Everyone excpet Ktryna and Triss.::
Dach> ::stepping up:: Sir, everyone here knows that I've been the biggest
critic ever since your arrival. This last surprise gives me pause but ::long
silence:: I want to go home sir. And if you have something that can help us
do it. Let's get going.
::Davis smiled and looked at Ruckwwod and Jade who nodded their acceptance::
Davis> Agreed. Let's get going.
==========
<<OOC: As I said folks I'm moving this thing up a notch. I am going to
send out a discovery report I made way back when for those that need to read
up on the gel. Basically this gel idea is not new and has played an
important role on my post aboard the Intrepid ever since I was CSciO. And
another thing people. I think we've all read enough logs about how we've
mistrusted each other. Let's start putting in some positive logs about how we
work as a team. A question was posed about trials and just to make sure
everyone knows, we don't begin trials until we get all posts filled. Now that
doesn't mean what we are doing doesn't count towards anything. On the
contrary it makes us stronger for trials. Last I heard we have a good
candidate so keep your fingers crossed.>>
