OOC: My visit to the EMH occurs before it's tampered with.

Ktryna was wary…and with reason….the distrust and dislike was palpable

in the air. Davis had arrived and examined the cargo bay doors….but

little could be done at the moment. Ktryna excused herself, feeling

the urge to be else, to go report to the EMH program. On the walk

there she realized she had serious doubts about donning this SF

uniform. If it only led to paranoia, she would not leave it on. And

lately that’s the only attitude that seemed to be eminating from the

ship. The visit to the EMH prooved to be humorous. It seemes the good

doctor did not know what to do with her either. Her DNA matched

nothing on file; despite the fact her matrix closely resembled a

changling’s….there were subtle differences. Ktryna shrugged and told

the EMH to access the files on the Darkness war and the bio creatures

and that if it looked it would see that she was a hybrid creature

spawned by the bios and brought to fruition with contact from a

changling..namely Lt.Cmdr Beldin’s of the Intrepid. The EMH did a

random search but came back with the reply that said files were damaged

and the data was incomplete. Ktryna chuckled. "Well doc…looks like

you’re going to have to guess." She hopped down off the bio bed,

leaving the medical area. She knew it would be a waste of time….the

doctors on the Intrepid hadn’t known what to do with her either. She

exited the area and headed out of habit to Security. The mess that

greeted her eyes was a shame. Most of the consoles were heavily

damaged …it looked as if no one had bothered to come here at all…other

than to remove the bodies. Little attention had been paid to repair

here. Ktryna walked into the former secuity cheifs office..and looked

around. Debris lay scattered everywhere. She sighed..the sight of the

office bringing a feeling she’d yet to name to surface. She had

intendend to talk to the counselor….the discussion never seemed to

materialize so she continued battling the new sensations on her own.

She left the office after finding some tools necessary to fix the

primary console. She yanked off the access panel…stood and tapped the

console, watching if flicker briefly and then die. Sighing she sat

down on the floor and looked at the mess inside. All that tedious

training Beldin had put her through was going to pay off. The main

conduit had been badly damaged. She doubted it would be easily

fixed….Most likely she’d have to take parts from several others arrays

in the security bay to make this one work. Her mind focused on the

task at hand, she quickly got to work.

(A few hours later)

Ktryna stood up and tapped the main security console again. This time

the console flared to life. She smiled, pleased with her work. From

here she could access the personnel files of the crew …if they still

existed. She knew the former chief of security would have run security

checks on all the crew…She was right. The files were badly damaged…and

gave little information. Sighing she closed the files. She didn’t need

a file to tell her what she could see for herself. Ruckwood was

wary..but at least open minded enough to give them the benefit of the

doubt…the other two were outright hostile. Now that the primary

security console was functioning, Ktryna did what was innate….she did

an internal sensor sweep…the internal computers showed they the several

of the primary command modules were not functioning….she also noticed

that the tactical and engineering stations had been locked down.

Another indication of the distrust, but the worse part was that the

moment she accessed the primary security console she had triggered a

message saying that further access would result in activating the self

destruct mechanism. It was clearly a ruse…and one she could easily

dismantle. She pulled up a nearby chair and set about getting rid of

the annoying message….then as a last precaution to make sure it would

not so easily happen again…she activated Emergency Procedure ALPHA 2-.

She knew that this protocol was used aboard all UCIP starships and that

ALPHA 2 would disengage all shipboard computer control and place the

ships systems on manual override. The next time some one wanted to

engage such a sub routine they would find access limited…and much

harder to get to. She established a complex subroutine to the

console…the procedure longer than normal due to the fact that the

manual override applied here as well…but it was a small comfort to

know that others would now have to do so as well. The subroutine in

place…..she closed the access panel, locked out the access to her

command and dermal print only…on a modulating frequency..not that her

dermal print could be duplicated anyway, and went in search of the

others from her party. She ensured no one but her would have access

to the security area…including the weapons in the armory.

She found both Cmdr Davis and Lt. Morraine together.

She walked up and coughed to get their attention. "I managed to get

the main computer in security back online. It seems the crew’s

distrust runs deep. One of them, most likely Dach rigged it so any

access would send a message warning that the ship would self destruct.

The routine was easily altered. And I locked out access to the

security area and armory to anyone but me. You don’t want me attacking

again…well…I don’t like the idea of anyone of them having access to the

armory at the moment."

Commander Davis asked if that was a prudent idea under the

circumstances… To which Ktryna quickly snapped.

"If distrust and fear were not so rampant…then I would not have done

so…I am tired of being treated like the enemy….as if we were no better

than the natives. Trust works both ways. Until they can show they can

be trusted ..and are not so quick tempered and hostile…they will not

get my trust. It’s a two way street. You would think if they truly

wanted to get home, they would at least meet us half way…after all we

didn’t come at them with phasers drawn…it was the other way around.

For all we know they could be responsible for the ship being here in

the first place…they could have mutinied…who’s here to say otherwise.?"

Ktryna waited for a reply before continuing.

"I’m sorry, but as far as I’m concerned...we’re still part of an away

team..and as such your security is my priority….between the hostility

demonstrated by this crew….and the natives outside…..well neither of

you are in the safest place in either situation. The natives are

drawing near to the ship…I’ve sensed them approaching for the last few

hours….their curiosity is getting the better of them and I would not be

surprised if they attempted to force those doors tonite…..until we are

off this planet…I will not drop my guard."

With that said she turned and began to walk away.
