(OOC: Yes commander master chief SIR, I do read those sim reports,

SIR. <wink> Note: the encounter with Atlanta occurs before Tar'a goes

to her private quarters.)

>>OOC: Quote from TAC's post>>

Atlanta marched angrily over to the door and exited her room.

She had never been threatened by a hologram before. Just as she was

turning the corner she bumped into a body that was moving just as fast

as she was.

"Dach!" she said in surprise as she helped her up from the floor.

"Jade" she replied acknowledging her presence. "What are you

doing up

at this time?"

"I have strict orders to go and see the doctor. And then I'm going to

do a little holographic reprogramming."

"Need some help?" Dach asked, happy that someone else had realised

just how annoying the EMH was.

"Sure" Atlanta replied and they both began walking down the

hallway.

"I was thinking that we could programme him to annoy Davis, so that

next time he will think twice before ordering us to report to sickbay

all the time."

"Maybe the doctor will suspend him from duty." Dach answered,

laughing.

"In our dreams"

<<End quote<<

The two entered sickbay and the EMH reported dutyfully, "Please state

the nature..."

"Enough," said Tar'a to the hologram. "Computer, end program.

Override

authoriy by Ensign Tar'a Dach, Chief engineer, access code Alpha Six

Gamma Two Seven."

<Access Granted. EMH program ended and memory modules updated.

Maintanance lockdown of EMH in ten seconds.>

"There," she said as she walked over to the processing unit of the

holodoc. "Now we have access to all his memory modules and program

routines. It is a very modular system, so we can easily adjust and

twitch it to our liking."

"Wonderful, but I have another idea," said Atlanta. "What if

we

compile a list of famous last words for the holodoc's opening. That

should really annoy some people."

"That sounds great," Tar'a exclaimed. "Please proceed. I'm

going to

look into some information about the lt.cmdr. Perhaps we can use

something he has against him," she chuckled and they both exploded in

unrestrained laughter.

While Atlanta was working on the opening statements of the doctor,

Tar'a was diving into all the information that was available to her

through unorthodox channels.

"Alright Mister Davis, show me what you've got," she said as she

instructed the computer's output to the screen. The various awards he

received throughout the years did impress her. However, it was not

what she had been looking for. Further back in history she went until

she found a corrupted file with the code name 'Black Jack'.

After a few deep breaths she started working on restoring those files.

"Atlanta, I need your help here for a minute," she said and

Atlanta

moved closer.

"What is it?" she asked curious.

"My mind is somewhat exhausted and I've trouble concentrating. I miss

a sequence here, and I know it is not too complicated but..."

"You're not able to see it? Well look... the previous sequence is in

the order of 2 to the 3, and 2 to the 6. I speculate that the next

sequence would be 2 to the 9 and 2 to the 12. But 12 should be

converted into C. So therefore the sequence would be..." she placed

the missing sequences into the compiler. "...that should do it, I

hope."

Tar'a tried opening the files again and this time they were able to

read most of the information. Unfortunately some of the information

was however damaged beyond repair.

"Look at that," Tar'a said surprised. "Our so called heroic

commander

has been a bad boy in the past."

"Don't tell me," Atlanta added. "A smuggler? Well, we

definitely found

more than we thought we would."

Both of them looked at each other and the devious grin was a positive

sign of this upcoming rebellion.

They both fed this information into the memory modules of the EMH down

to the tiny details found in the files. They also alerted the EMH to

the fact that all hands were to report every twelve hours, and that

this would include Lt.Cmdr. Davis himself. She was tempted to alter

her personal schedule with the doctor but decided to stick with the

six to eight hours.

"Today is a good day to die," quoted the EMH at reactivation. When

he

realized that he was not alone he simply turned towards Atlanta. "Ah

welcome Ensign. What can I do for you?"

"Now that's more like it," Atlanta added and allowed the doctor

to

treat her.

"Looking much better," Tar'a said once the doctor was finished

with

Atlanta's treatment. "How are you feeling now?"

"Oh," she said as she went over their previous experience

together,"much better Dach. Thank you, although I don't believe that I

was feeling that bad to begin with."

"You're being bad none the less," she chuckled back.

They both left sickbay almost singing when Atlanta expressed her other

concerns. Since they appearently had some things to discuss they

decided to walk to their private quarters.

"Those natives are getting closer and closer," Atlanta said.

"Yes, they even tampered with the cargobay doors," Tar'a replied

obviously concerned.

"Perhaps we should investigate this, Tar'a." It was the first time

she

used her first name, but they somehow had grown closer the past few

days like friends.=20

To investigate would be a good idea. However, they needed to find a

way to leave the ship without giving Davis and his friends a

possibility of taking over.

"It is not so difficult to lockdown access to engineering and your

tactical station with our personal access codes. That way we secure

our stations and we can check out those natives at the same time. When

something happens we will be informed by the board computer."

"and," added Atlanta, "they can not take off without us on

board.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I still don't trust them all. Even if

their records check out it doesn't say anything about their

personalities and I will not have Mr Black Jack leaving us here and

stealing the ship."

"I agree...." Ta'ra paused for a moment to think."In

fact," the

engineer went on, "I can make it even more complicated.

"I'm listening," Atlanta replied.

"After securing our station I can reroute all signals towards the self

destruct meganism. This means that every time they try to tamper with

the consoles the ship will warn that continuing will activate the self

destruct mode."

"You would risk blowing up the ship?" Atlanta asked stunned.

"Of course not," Tar'a answered. "It will be a mere

simulation, but

presented as real."

"but then," Atlanta added, "they will know you're bluffing

since you

have no authority to activate the self destruct mode."

"Ah," Tar'a smiled proudly,"I may not have the authority, but

I do

have the means. I found a lot of information while investigating. This

includes the ways of accessing the self destruct mode."

"You hacked into the main computer core?"

"Yes, and I even let the computer help me with accessing."

"How?"

"With the aid of the captain. Yes, I know he's no longer among us.

However, I was able to use previous audio recordings of his voice to

compile the lists of access codes. At that time we were forced to do

this, otherwise we were unable to access all systems. Now it gives us

an extra ace in our deck of cards..."

"Well, in that case we need to change the access codes to make sure

that they can't do the same. Can you do that?" Atlanta asked wanting

to make sure that they had every possible scenario covered.

"Sure, no problem." Dach answered.

"We should go to our quarters now and sleep, otherwise we'll be

harrassed by complaints from Ruckwood and the rest of them. Let's make

them think that we're complying." Atlanta said cautiously, stopping to

make sure there was no one around. "I'm going to program my computer

to keep a permanent lock on the new members and to sound an alarm if

anyone of them violates security."

Again there was laughter in the walkways as the two ensigns exchanged

their ideas, opinions and tricks. It was getting later and they both

realized that they needed their sleep. They would contact each other

in the morning again, after their requested visit to the EMH, who

would undoubtedly have more amusing quotes for the crew to become

irritated by.
