OOC: Okay, okay. I'm sorry it's out so late. I'm sending this from
home and I'm not sure if it'll go over the listserv. If it doesn't,
could you please forward it for me Steve. Thanx. Trissie :)
IC:
All the way to the Galileo Triss had been sensing a mix of emotions from
Atlanta, foremost of which were suspicion and wariness. Triss sighed and
tried to ignore it, but was only partially successful. The events
leading up to their being stranded on the planet had taken their toll on
her senses and that combined with her simple physical tiredness were
making it difficult to block out the surface emotions of others. She
could tell that Ktryna wasn't overly thrilled with their would-be rescuer
either and Triss found herself wishing that *she* could change forms and
range ahead of the group as well.
When the group finally reached the ship, Triss was stunned. Judging from
the angle it had crashed at, she would have thought that it would be in
far worse shape than it appeared to be. Steve was amazed as well. When
the were actually allowed on the ship, Triss was nearly overwhelmed by
the feelings of distrust emanating from their 'welcoming committee.' The
worst of them seemed to be coming from the woman who looked to be
Klingon, or at least part Klingon anyway. When she heard Ktryna
growling, Triss reached a hand down and laid it lightly on her head.
{{Easy now. We don't wish to get them too irritated with us. One senses
that the woman there already wishes we had never appeared.}} Ktryna
didn't relax her guard, but she did stop growling.
Triss decided to let Steve handle things, since he was the ranking
officer. She just concentrated on blocking the emotions of the others
from her mind as best she could. She was greatly relieved when Steve had
finished speaking to the officers in front of them. He turned to her.
"Lt (jg)," he said. "Is there anything else you can think to
add about
what has happened to us so far?" Triss shook her head. "Not
really,"
she said. "But I *would* like to tell these officers something."
Steve
nodded. "Go ahead."
Triss turned to face them. "Relax. I'm not going to pry into your
minds. It's against all of the morals and ethics I learned growing up
and, more importantly, it would violate the oath I took when I became a
Councillor." Ta'ra all but growled at her. "Then how did you know
to
tell us to relax?" Triss shook her head. "Because you are
radiating
enough tension and distrust in your surface emotions to resonate with a
*far* less powerful empath than myself." Ktryna turned to look up at
Triss. {{Tell them that one senses it as well.}} Triss nodded.
"Ktryna
says that she's also picking it up, and her shields against such things
are far stronger than mine at the moment." Ta'ra snorted and turned
back
to Steve, arms crossed. "Well," she said. "We can stick you
in some
empty quarters until we've had a chance to look over your StarFleet
files, but you'll all be in the same quarters. Security reasons, you
understand."
Steve looked at Triss and she easily picked up what he was thinking.
{{Do you think this is a wise thing to agree to?}} Triss nodded. {{I
think so. If it will make them trust us more, then it's all well and
good. I have no objections and it *is* their ship.}} Steve nodded and
turned back to Ta'ra. "That's up to you Ensign. This *is* your ship
after all."
<< I'll have another one out this week soon. :) >>
